I-40, going not east
Stop #1. Up $470.
10/30/24
Things change. We sometimes fall into situations we never expect and this is one of those situations. My last day at my job of ten years at Tennessee Tech was Friday, October 25. I’m moving on to a place I’m supposed to be. In the meantime, a journey is in order.
This journey will be different as I’ll mostly travel alone. Schedule is non-existent and I’ll go where the day takes me. It will be a trip in the truck, full of photography and poker.
I’ll explore small communities along the way that most never see. I’ll venture through hundreds of miles of nothingness, finding that there is much more there than previously thought. I’ll wander through deserts and ghost towns, eating in diners and mingling with the locals. I’ll pick up the one I love at an airport along the way and spend a few days out in the mountains with her.
I like this type of trip, traveling in a way that most people don’t. Many people prefer flying to a destination and spending time there. I like to immerse in the culture, seeing how others live and I want to exist in their world. I want to see and experience the places that many fly over. Like our travels in other countries……I want to understand other people and their lives.
This trip is not about the destination…..it’s about the journey. On to points west.
